How to Deposit into a Sportsbook with MasterCard

Updated June 25, 2015We do not recommend any of the offshore sportsbooks listed below in this article as they are deemed illegal per the 1961 Federal Wire Act, which was also upheld and clarified by the Department of Justice (DOJ) in 2011. However, we do recommend FanDuel.com and DraftKings.com as legit fantasy sports betting sites that are 100% legal for USA bettors. Both FanDuel and DraftKings accept MasterCard as a deposit option. Online fantasy sports betting is thriving and is a great alternative to your standard sports wagers placed at sportsbooks.

The web is littered with mis-information on what sportsbooks accept MasterCard. The reason being it was not until recently that most bookies realized that the majority of their visitors used Visa to deposit, and with processors limited they chose to stick to multiple VISA processors.

10 Books, 1 Accepted Mastercard

I decided to take a gander at what sportsbooks were still US Mastercard friendly. Out of 10 sportsbooks with the most traffic activity, only 1 accepted Mastercard to deposit money. This site was www.Wagerweb.com. We actually used to recommend them a lot because of their higher than normal limits but they’ve recently experienced problems on their VISA side so we had to recommend others. But, if you only have Mastercard they are a solid book to bet at.

It was quite interesting to see how many gambling information portals still had Bovada, Bookmaker, Sportsbook.com, and even BetOnline to still use www.Mastercard.com. Not one of these major books used Mastercard anymore so I headed off to calling the support lines of these books. The support at BetOnline said if you were a VIP player, generally someone willing to make very large wagers, then they would let you use their Mastercard processor. Here is Betonline’s sportsbook if you want Mastercard and VIP type of support for deposits and withdraws.

Customer Support Warning

Warning though, Betonline probably has the rudest customer support staff. They’re a good book, but I really wish they would hire non-Panamanian customer support. They are some of the nastiest people when it comes to customer support, they truly don’t give a s$&t. Same with 5dimes customer staff, very unfriendly. The best by far has always been Bovada which went by Bodog previously. Very helpful group and they will help you find alternatives without the attitude.

Should You Get a VISA Card?

Yup. You should. I don’t see the US government relaxing their views on internet sports betting. Unless all the sudden there is a huge demand for Mastercard use within the United States at online bookie shops then Master Card is not coming back. There is no reason to have it when 90% of the visitors use VISA.

What was recommended to me by Bovada was to head over to Walmart at a local gas station that sells those prepaid Gift Cards. It will need a Visa logo on it and should say its ok for international online transactions (most are). The one recommended most is Netspend. Grab one next time you’re out, load a small amount on there and see if it works. Should be no worries getting money onto the sportsbook of your choice then.

Then How Will I Withdraw Money

Whether you deposit with Mastercard, Visa or an ewallet you can always ask for a check to be dispatched to your house. They almost always come in through Fed-ex. Some online betting sites will charge you a fee to take money out by checks if you do it too many times per month.

Good luck!
