Soccer Star Ronaldinho Treats Trademark Teeth
Brazilian soccer superstar, Ronaldhino, famous for his fantastic feats on the field, has reportedly done something which he swore he never would. The 33 year old has always said that he will never change his trademark buck teeth which are shown in huge grins whenever he scores a goal.
However, it seems that the former Barcelona star has had second thoughts and has reportedly gone under the knife to improve his dental features. The Daily Mail has reported that Ronaldinho visited a Brazilian dentist recently who operated on the player for an hour, doing surgery on his gums and inserting porcelain veneers. Newspaper reports say that the work was done on Tuesday afternoon and the two time FIFA World Player of the Year was back training with his team, Atletico Mineiro, soon after.
Roberto Assis, Ronaldinho’s agent and brother would only say about the procedure: “It is part of his normal (dental) treatment and won’t affect him at all.”
It was only recently that Ronaldinho told a French magazine that he wouldn’t consider cosmetic surgery on his mouth since it has become part of who he is and how people identify with him.
Ronaldinho’s grin has become the nightmare of many of his rivals on the field, including English goal keeper David Seaman who watched in horror as the Brazilian scored for his team in the 2002 World Cup, putting his country in the lead of the tournament. The player’s toothy delight was caught on camera and splashed over world newspapers, becoming an icon of that year’s World Cup.
Ronaldinho will appear with his new teeth on the field on Thursday, when his team faces Bahia in a Brazilian Série A match.
