Near Knock Out in NBA Victory Bus Ride
LeBron James and his NBA team, the Miami Heats, may have knocked out their rivals San Antonios in the finals last week, but some of the team members were nearly physically knocked out when a victory bus ride around the streets of Miami brought the top of their heads too close for comfort to a concrete bridge.
The team was celebrating their second successive NBA win on the top of an open-air bus which drove around Miami in front of 400,000 cheering fans. The bus route probably needed to be mapped out more thoroughly, because it suddenly took the vehicle under a bridge which forced the celebrating men to duck to avoid bashing their heads on the approaching concrete.
Thankfully, LeBrons’ instincts are as strong off-court as they are on, and a video camera on the top of the bus shows the 28 year old ducking suddenly as the bridge comes in near contact with the top of the bus.
Incredibly, the bus then continued on its route before it came upon ANOTHER bridge, forcing the travelers to duck once more.
The victory parade constituted of cars, tracks and buses which were crammed with Miami Heats players, management and family members. Some of the players were armed with water guns and squirted their fans who had turned out before sunrise to catch a glimpse of their home pride team. Confetti was also sprayed from other vehicles, raining down on the streets of the city and no doubt leaving the cleaning team a lot of work for the following day.
LeBron James, who was named Finals MVP, earned a standing ovation when he stepped onto a stage at the end of the bus route to thank Miami Heats fans. Despite speculation that James may be returning to Cleveland, it has been understood that he will continue with Miami for the time being.
