San Diego Chargers:
The Chargers had an above average showing in this year’s preseason, which doesn’t mean all that much since most of the starter don’t play a whole lot but they did go 3-1. The Raiders on the other hand went 1-3, if that gives any up sign for those San Diego fans. The Chargers went 8-8 in the regular season last year, missing out on the playoffs in a very close bunched division.

Oakland Raiders:
The Raiders had a shaky offensive start in the preseason, but their defense was very impressive. They ranked fourth in total defense giving up only 259.8 yards per game, and where ranked third in defensive passing yards. That is a good sign if you are an Oakland fan, now they just need to get the offense rolling a touch more.

Game Prediction:
This is a very tough game to predict, and I think the professional bookmakers feel the same way giving the Raiders a 1 point advantage on the point spread. The Chargers looked better in the preseason, but this is a home game for the Raiders. Usually when it’s this close of a game I usually give the nod to the home team. Therefore, I predict the Raiders beating the point spread in a very close and low scoring game.
