2012 PGA TOUR FedEx Cup Playoffs

It’s Playoff time for the 2012 PGA TOUR Season. This year has been exciting in the world of golf to say the least. Tiger Woods has once again won on the PGA TOUR, three times if you are counting, and we had four great winners in the Major Championships; big bomber Bubba Watson won the Masters at Augusta National, genuine Webb Simpson won the U.S. Open at Olympic Club, Hall of Famer Ernie Els won the British Open, and young gun super star Rory McIlroy won the PGA Championship at Kiawah Island.

The 2012 FedEx Cup Playoff Schedule:

  • August 23rd – 26th The Barclays at Bethpage Black, New York
  • August 31st – September 3rd Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston, Massachusetts
  • September 6th – 9th BMW Championship at Crooked Stick Golf Club, Indiana
  • September 20th – 23rd TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club, Georgia

Regular Season FedEx Cup Point List, Top 10 Players:

2012 Playoff Prediction

This is the sixth year of the new playoff system for the PGA TOUR, and each year they have tweaked the system a bit to make it that more exciting going into the TOUR Championship, giving all final 30 remaining players a chance to win it all. As you might remember, Bill Haas won the FedEx Cup last year in 2011.

For 2012, I predict Tiger Woods wining it for the third time. He has had a much better year, and not wining a Major will keep him motivated to win the FedEx Cup. Two of my other picks would have been Rory McIlroy and Jason Dufner, but since Jason has decided not to play in the First Round of the Playoffs, I am no longer picking him. Not sure exactly what he is thinking, but he is missing the opportunity to collect a $10+ million paycheck and to ultimately win the prestigious FedEx Cup. Even though he still can win it all b skipping this event, like a few others have done, Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk, he is going to have an uphill battle. Rory will have a good shot coming off a Major Championship win at the PGA Championship. Although he missed the four previous cuts before winning his second Major, I still like his chances. My final pick would be Sergio Garcia. He won last week in Greensboro, and is currently riding on confidence. He now will be on the Ryder Cup and its full steam ahead for Sergio.

If you looking to wager on this year’s playoffs in golf, I would recommend Bovada.lv for USA bettors, and Bet365.com for International bettors. Both these sportsbooks are the best in the industry and have great bets you can place in golf.
