2012 Olympics Men’s Basketball
Many sports fans around the world are eager to see who will win gold in men’s basketball at the 2012 Olympics. Will it be the United States, Spain or France? Well, only time will tell and we all will be glued to the television watching with anticipation.
The easy answer is it should be the U.S. men’s basketball team to win gold. But the pressure of the Olympic games and representing your own country definitely can put a twist on things. Just look at the U.S’s women’s gymnastics team or even Michael Phelps, many would have never guessed with some of those results, but hay, like I said, anything can happen in London.

At the bottom we listed the odds on who will win gold in the 2012 men’s basketball Olympics. There are 12 teams/countries competing for the title, and they were grouped in two groups, A Group and B Group.
Group A consists of:
- Lithuania
- Nigeria
- France
- Argentina
- Tunisia
- United States
Group B consists of:
- China
- Russia
- Australia
- Spain
- Great Britain
- Brazil
The United States definitely got the easier grouping of the two, which means they will have much stiffer competition as they get closer to the gold. Most likely, I predict Spain giving the USA team the biggest run for their money that also has several NBA players on their team. But anything can happen in London, and just remember, the U.S. team lost 3 games in 2004 and ended up with a bronze medal.
