The CA Championship Review:

Get ready to watch a great PGA TOUR tournament this week in Miami. I call this event #2. It’s the second event on the Florida swing, the second World Golf Championship, and Phil Mickelson is going for his second straight win at the CA Championship at Doral.

The World Golf Championships are outstanding events and draw most of the best professional golfers in the world. The prize purses are way above most PGA TOUR tournaments at $8.5 million, not bad if you ask me. The TPC Blue Monster at Doral is a great venue to host this prestigious event, playing at a par-72 and 7,266 yards. This tournament usually goes down to the 18th hole, 467 yard par-4 which is the most difficult hole on the course. We will see how the drama unfolds at #18 for the 2010 CA Championship.

The sportsbook betting odds are listed below, but I would look for Phil Mickelson, Camilo Villegas, Anthony Kim, Jim Furyk and Ian Poulter to play well this week. Phil Mickelson is the defending champion and always has a great shot at winning any PGA TOUR tournament, Camilo Villegas has been playing outstanding golf this year and won last week at the Honda Classic, Anthony Kim’s game seems to be close to peaking, Jim Furyk has rested up the past few weeks and always seems to play great golf at this event and on Bermuda grass, and Ian Poulter won the first World Golf Championship this year 2 weeks ago. Those are my picks for this week, and we will see if one of them holds the trophy on Sunday.
