The most anticipated golf tournament in the world of golf, the Ryder Cup, will be hosted at Medinah Country Club outside of Chicago in 2012. The Ryder Cup is held every 2 years, but only once every 4 years in the United States. Europe is pretty much dominating the top 10 spots in the world golf rankings currently, and has always played well with one another in the Ryder Cup team format even when they are big underdogs. However, the past several years the USA have been the underdogs, as listed by the top golf sportsbooks, and nothing has changed thus far for 2012.

USA:
The USA professional golfers have been struggling for the past few years with the European players pretty much dominating the top rankings. As of now, there are really only two veteran golfers on the top Ryder Cup list so far, Phil Mickelson and Steve Stricker, that is not a good sign for US Captain David Love III. Hopefully, the cream of the crop will rise to the top as we get closer to October.

Europe:
European players have been on the rise, and on the rise quickly to say the least. Young superstars like Rory McIlroy, Martin Kaymer, Graeme McDowell and the Molinari brother have been winning tournaments left and right, on the European Tour, the PGA TOUR, and Major Championships. Follow them up with world #1 Luke Donald, previous #1 Lee Westwood and veteran 2011 British Open Champion Daren Clarke, and you have a stacked power house team once again!

2012 Ryder Cup – USA vs Europe Prediction:
The 2012 Ryder Cup will be held in the United States at prestigious Medinah Country Club outside of Chicago. This golf course will be a great test for all players, and it obviously is a huge advantage for the USA players having this event on their home turf. Even though Europe team will be stacked, I have a good feeling that the USA will win this Ryder Cup. Phil is already off to a great start, as is Steve Stricker, and I think Tiger Woods is going to get back to his old ways for 2012 and start dominating once again. The young guns will step up, the Dustin Johnson’s and Hunter Mahan’s of the world, to help lead the USA to victory, but it’s definitely going to be an uphill battle.
