Boston Celtics:
The Boston Celtics lost game 1 to the Los Angeles Lakers, 102-89. Other than the 1st quarter, the Celtics were always trying to play catch-up. Paul Pierce didn’t get the number of shots he needs to for Boston to win, everybody was in foul trouble throughout the game, including Ray Allen who could not stop Kobe. The Celtics have a lot to do if they want a chance at another NBA Championship.
Los Angeles Lakers:
The Lakers played outstanding basketball in game 1 of the NBA Finals. If Los Angeles continues to play as solid as they did, it is going to be extremely difficult for Boston to have any chance. Kobe Bryant played a terrific game as did Ron Artest on both offense and defense.
Boston Celtics vs Los Angeles Lakers Prediction:
The Los Angeles Lakers dominated the Boston Celtics in game 1 in all aspects, offense, defense, rebounds, points in paint, etc. If the Celtics want a chance at winning game 2, they need to give Paul Pierce more shots, get more bodies in rebounding, have someone other than Ray Allen guard Kobe Bryant, play smarter defense and stay out of foul trouble. Yes, that is a laundry list if you ask me and maybe too much to ask for from Boston. If the Lakers want to win game 2, all they need to do is keep playing the way they are, that simple.
Now, I do think the Celtics can easily win this Championship as long as their starting five stay healthy. Well, now I need to add as long as they can stay out of foul trouble as well. Although I do see this series going 7 games, I do predict an overall higher scoring game and a single digit win by the Lakers.
